Join us on this great hike in Lerderderg state park. Rising in the Great Dividing Range, the Lerderderg River has cut a 300 metre deep gorge through sandstone and slate, almost bisecting the park. The park has a wide variety of vegetation and wildlife and some interesting relics of gold mining. This is a fantastic but strenuous walk. The circuit provides access to some more remote sections of the gorge and also bypasses Lerderderg Weir.
The trail includes water crossings (possibility of your feet getting wet unless the river is dry) and some steep and steady climbs as well as steep descents. Please Note: This is a longer and more challenging hike. While our goal is to finish by 3:30 PM, please keep in mind that as a group, the pace may vary, and the hike could take longer.
